Who we are
Rated Counsel Limited is the controller of the personal data described here. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11812572) with our registered office at 5 Golden Mede, Waddesdon, HP18 0NG, United Kingdom. This policy covers the ratedcounsel.com website. Our products (regSpace, clmSpace, crmSpace and onTerms) have their own privacy notices on their own sites.
What we collect
- Enquiry details. If you contact us through the site or by email, we process the information you give us, such as your name, email address, organisation and the contents of your message.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs, such as IP address and request data, to run the site securely and reliably.
- Analytics. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics, and only after you give consent. See our cookie policy.
Why we use it, and our lawful bases

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed those interests against your rights. We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of providers that process data on our behalf:

These providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to deal with your message and any related follow-up, and then delete them. Server logs and analytics data are kept for short periods appropriate to their purpose.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- ask us to correct inaccurate data (rectification);
- ask us to delete your data (erasure);
- ask us to restrict how we use it (restriction);
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests (objection);
- ask to receive your data in a portable format (portability);
- withdraw your consent to analytics at any time, with effect for the future.

Complaints
You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the chance to address your concern first, but you do not have to contact us before complaining.
